I finished the class with the trans Halacha project from svara. I like learning with svara because it’s completely *not* the hashkafa I come from or believe in and it’s in many ways challenging for me but the people are very kind and I get a lot out of it. I like challenging myself to learn from Jewish communities that are outside my frame of reference, but still source-based and intellectually driven in interesting ways. Svara is definitely one space I enjoy for those reasons, and I like how committed they are to inclusivity and accessibility.
I definitely don’t think I practically will use any of the suggestions from the teshuvot from the first writing collective but I do like the idea of euphoric as opposed to dysphoric Halacha and Halacha regarding trans Jewish people needing to do more than just justifying our existence. I appreciate the ability to think about my trans Jewish existence in different ways through their classes, even though fundamentally I hit a bit of a block because I am, at my core, feeling like I need and desire to fit my existence into an orthodox framework and part of this does involve mesirat nefesh and humbling of my thoughts before Hashem. But anyways I appreciate them and I liked the class series.

Hey Avraham! Can you please elaborate on what these svaros are? And do they contradict the sources?
